Development for up to 700 houses North of Haxby and Wigginton

An outline application for up to 800 houses has been submitted for the land North of Haxby (ST09) in January 2023 and updated plans for 700 houses were published on the planning portal in December 2024.
A decision was made to approve the outline planning application by the City of York Council during Planning Meeting A on 19th June 2025.
Representatives of Wigginton Parish Council attended the meeting and a summary of Wigginton Parish Council’s objections were raised again by our Chairman. Cllr Gates.
23/00160/OUTM- Land To The South Of Rose Cottage Farm And The Lodge Moor Lane Haxby York Outline application with all matters reserved except for access for circa 800 dwellings, provision of open space including cemetery expansion, primary school, sports and recreational facilities, flood storage measures, landscaping and associated infrastructure (revised description).

Thank you to the residents who attended the presentation by Royal Pilgrim on behalf of the developers as part of the ordinary meeting of Wigginton Parish Council on 17 January 2024 and the presentation by Professor Mike Holmes, partner in the Haxby and Wigginton Surgery at the 21 February meeting.
Please find below the objection letter submitted regarding the further amendments on 18th December 2024.
It is expected on the basis of recent consultation responses by National Highways and Natural England that there will be further amendments.
